How To Apply Make-up To Your Eyes?

Hi,

I've been researching alot for how to apply eyeshadow and make it look nice. I found some pictures that i thought i could copy but its just not working, i've spent heaps of money on make-up and practising trying to mix colours to suit myself, every time i try to do it, it looks wrong, like i've read that you must have 3 colours, a light base, medium just for the eye lid, and a dark colour to go in the crease of your eye, but when i do it, it looks like one big smudge of the same colour. I dont know what im doing wrong.

Any tips/suggestions to help?

Secondly, does anyone know if there is such a thing were you can go to learn how to apply makeup? im not talking about make-up artistry, just like a shop where they teach you how to apply make-up properly.? or maybe you have to do a course in make-up artistry?

Thank you.How To Apply Make-up To Your Eyes?
What kind of makeup are you using? It might not be your technique, it might be the makeup you are using. Some eyeshadows are cheap and very hard to blend. So it's important to get a quality eyeshadow.

Regardless, there are numerous places to go to learn how to do makeup. You can go to a makeup store like Sephora or the cosmetic counter at MAC, and have your makeup done. They'll do it for free, because, of course, they want you to buy your products. Both MAC and Sephora carry quality makeup, so you'll get quality eyeshadow there. You can ask the makeup artist to show you what they've done and how they've done it, and be careful to pay good attention. It will be free, but of course you should buy their products. Otherwise it's just rude, wasting their time.

Of, if you prefer, go to a salon/spa. Most salons/spas offer makeup application and makeup lessons for a fee. I know my local salon charges $35 for a makeup lesson. They'll teach you what colors to use, how to apply makeup, just general stuff. And you can feel free to ask all the questions you want.

It's up to you though. I hope that helps! How To Apply Make-up To Your Eyes?

their are classes, you can go to your nearest community college and ask for a catalog.

about the make up, what kind of brushes have you been using?
you could go to a department store or something. garuntee theres at least one store in your nearest mall that does that.
You don't necessarily have to have three different eyeshadows. If you're just beginning with it, don't stress over it. Just go for one. Pick a color that you like with your skin tone use a fluffy eyeshadow brush like MAC's 213 (if you find one similar at a drugstore or anywhere else, feel free to grab that one up because there's no point in buying something super expensive if you're just beginning with makeup). Just brush the color over your lids and make sure that there are no harsh lines anywhere, that's really what helps the most with makeup.

When you use the three different eyeshadows, are you using different brushes? If you're just using one, that might be mixing all the colors together. And if you absolutely must use the same eyeshadow brush for all three colors, apply the lightest color first so it's not tainted by the other colors.

At some MAC counters they do offer a makeup course where you can learn how to apply makeup if you're interested. I believe it costs about $50, but at the end you get your money's worth of makeup.

I hope that helped! Good luck!
You might be trying techniques that are too hard. So, you can go to a makeup store or a department store, anywhere they sell makeup other than walmart or target, and the people there will show you. Especially if you go to a shop specifically designated to selling makeup, like a MAC store. The people there are most likely trained makeup artists and can A) do your makeup and B) show you how to do it. Tell them what you are looking for, if you like you could bring in a picture. Just like you would with a hairdresser.

If you don't want to go out, you can go on Youtube, people upload tutorials for everything, including How To's on Makeup.

Good Luck
Honestly, a lot of the time I don't mess around with the 3 color thing. Especially if you are just learning to do makeup, it is easiest to just use 2 colors that go together---a darker color for the lid and a shimmery light shade for your browbone and the inner corner of your eyes. Neutrogena Mineral Sheers for Eyes are my favorite because the 2 colors come together. Basically you just apply the darker shade from your lash line to your crease and then the lighter shade from your crease to your eyebrow and to the inner corner of your eye, just outside your tearduct. (The Neutrogena eyeshadows I mentioned can be applied with your finger and it still looks good!)

If you really want to learn, I suggest going to a place like Sephora or even Macy's and having a person who works there teach you how to do makeup. It's usually free but the general rule is that you are expected to buy at least some of the products they use.
Ok For starters!! RELAX lol.. start with a clean face!!1 Moisturize !

1. Apply foundation to whole face including eyelid

2. Apply your powder..(check for perfect match on your wrist!!!)

3. Apply a neutral color on your whole lid

4. Apply a shimmery white at the brow bonebut lightly you can allways add more!

5. Apply a your lid color whether it be pink or a tan

6. then apply the darkest color of the three in the crease..

~ u can use a Q-Tip or a angle brush to do this

~ allways start at the edge of the eye in.. but not all the way

across just to about where your eye color bgins(around your

pupil)

7. Apply either liquid eyeliner or pencil... I dinf for starters pencil is the easiest.. apply little dashes as close to the lash line as possible..then connect them.. soon u will be able to draw a straight line right across!!!

8. Apply a lsh curler(if u have one, if not get one there great!) then Mascara!!!

9. Finish with blush NEVER REDS OR HOT PINKS.. a soft pink will do just fine..

10. A neutral lip liner and some gloss.. or jus plain clear gloss is fine!!!

...watch WHAT NOT TO WEAR.. the makeup artist on there is great!!

check out my myspace..www.myspace.com/stephanyfrma!!!

I get compliments on my makeup all the time!!!

Good luck Sweety

Dont get discouraged u will get it!
