xWhats the best thing to use to apply make up?
i usually just use my fingers to swipe on eyeshadow if im in a rush
or i use a brush
the spongy thing is hard to blend with and stuffWhats the best thing to use to apply make up?
i love love love love the foundation brushes with the white tips like MAC's 187!! Sigma makeup also has the same brushes for a bit cheaper i think, they are amazing for powder and with liquid foundation after you buff it on with the brush it looks airbrushed!!
Do Mineral makeup. Then its smooth and you can't mess it up. at all.
I use my fingers to put on my foundation or I use mineral makeup. For my eyeshadow I use a brush. It makes the color blend really nice. When use face powder I use a big fluffy brush.
Stay away from sponges for application of makeup. U might find some use for them in blending out ur foundation once it's already on but otherwise the sponges tend to absorb much of the product and is not efficient. Your fingertips are a great tool- they're quicker, and the warmth of ur hands will melt the foundation and make it more easily blendable. Just remember to wash ur hands first! As far as a brush goes.. I love the mac 109 brush. It's technically a contour brush but it's smaller size and stiff hairs make it perfect for buffing foundation and will give u an airbrushed finish
i use my fingers to rub in my concealer and liquid foundation.
but for my power, i obviously use a big brush.
and for my eye shadow, i use a smaller one thats soft, yet firm.
ha
i used to use a professional paint brush for my eyes because i couldn't afford a professional one.
If you want a less precise application, use your fingers. These are helpful in warming the product up and having it go on much more smoothly.
If you want a more precise application, use brushes. The good thing about them is they have a brush for every type of makeup you can think of,but I personally don't think it's necessary to use a brush when applying everything because that would cost a lot of money and fingers are better for some things anyway.
Sponges sort of tend to absorb the product,so if you want a more sheer application, those work well.
Tip: Wetting the sponge can make the application even more sheer because it will absorb the product even more.Try using them if your product is too thick. However,If you don't want a very sheer coverage, try using your fingers for foundation, concealer, etc. because it will warm the product.I don't recommend this for blemishes, though because that requires a slightly more precise application. If you have a darker under eye area you may want to use a brush for more precision, also and then maybe blend it with your finger to make it appear more natural looking.
like a brush
brush is the best because it doesnt soak up the makeup like sponges and it is also what professionals use to get a clean finish.
you have to get used to using a brush, but since you've already been using a sponge for some time, i think adjusting to a brush won't be too difficult.
there's a lot of different types of brushes. i suggest you get foundation, powder, eye contour, and blush brushes. the foundation one has thick, long bristles that are close together. the blush and powder brushes will also have long bristles but they will be more spread apart. and an eye contour brush is for the creases under your eye so when you put on makeup there, the makeup won't go into the creases and bunch together there.
if you want to buy expensive brushes, MAC has a good selection. i prefer drugstore because they're 1/3 the price, literally! Walgreens, Target, and other drugstores carry brushes.
